Holiday Activities

The scope for activities in this part of Scotland is limited only by the imagination. Bearing in mind of course that Loch Ness is wild country and sparsely populated, particularly on the south side. Accommodation is spread fairly thinly across the whole area to suit all tastes and pockets.

There is everything here to suit the outdoor enthusiast, but especially excellent for walking, with terrain to suit all abilities. South Loch Ness member businesses include guided walks, climbing, bird watching and wildlife tours, fishing, golf courses, loch cruises, water sports canoeing and horse riding. But there are many more activities available within easy driving distance.  Scotland 's finest ski resorts are both within an hours drive of the south side of Loch Ness .  Most of our accommodation members will be happy to advise on any activities you might want to enquire about, so please feel free to ask when booking your holiday accommodation.

"If in dreams a wilderness you see,
of crags and tumbling waters,
of soaring eagles and solitude
and vast open spaces,
truly, you have seen this place
already in your dreams,
so when you come, you will returning be,
and your heart will rejoice forever,
for never will it leave”.
