For 20 years now, Alex and Margaret Hutcheson have been welcoming guests to stay in their home, described in guide books as a 'warm and friendly home'.
The Lodge is situated amidst 80 acres of pastureland where you can view suckler cows with calves, sheep and our daughter Rachel's Welsh pony Seamus.
The house has been specially designed with high ceilings and spacious public rooms which we have furnished with big comfortable sofas so you can relax amongst elegant furniture and original art works.
Cuisine at The Lodge
Well-known for our highly acclaimed cooking, we serve delicious food in most comfortable surrounds. We offer a wide choice for breakfast to suit all appetites.
Our dining room offers the best of Scottish Food in traditional dishes, including fresh, locally caught salmon and trout, meats such as Scottish Lamb and Aberdeen Angus Beef, together with vegetables, cheeses and fruits, according to the season. All are prepared to a very high standard.
The Rooms
Named after local rivers, our 7 guest bedrooms are each attractively co-ordinated with comfy furnishings.
We have 4 double rooms, 2 twin rooms and 1 single room.
All rooms are ensuite, with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, TV & VCR, and direct dial telephones with Internet/E-mail access.
The master bedroom has a four-poster bed and a large bay window, plus the original Victorian bathroom which has come with us from our former house. This room is particularly suited for romantic breaks and honeymoons.
The Findhorn room can be arranged as twin or as a super-king double. Situated on the ground floor with ramp access, it ideal for those with mobility difficulties or for wheelchair users. Careful design consideration ensures your comfort with all switches and appliances at height to suit. There is a wheel-in double-size shower.
