For All Things New this New Year Head To The
New Year, New You, New
Counteracting the abundance of short-term diets and fitness plans that appear in the media at this time of year, the New Year sees the launch of the inaugural Loch Ness Boot Camp which has been developed to deliver considerable long-term results. Featuring a rigorous itinerary of intensive, adrenaline-fuelled activities, the Loch Ness Boot Camp makes the most of its environment and the outdoor activity opportunities available.
Designed to kick-start those New Year ‘Get Fit’ resolutions, the Loch Ness Boot Camp not only aims to combat the indulgences of the festive season and achieve a more svelte appearance in 2010, but also to deliver meaningful results that embrace long lasting change. Taking place between Sunday 24th and
The Inch Hotel, which recently changed to new ownership, is working in partnership with the expertise of UKMC, a specialist events company, to create the first Loch Ness Boot Camp and provide a unique opportunity for guests to enjoy the outstanding natural environment of world famous Loch Ness whilst changing to a healthier lifestyle in a enjoyable way.
The 5 day itinerary, which is led by a team of fully qualified, professional and inspirational trainers, is designed to put participants through their paces whilst improving aerobic fitness and stamina.
Taking full advantage of its location, the Loch Ness Boot Camp will make the most of the Highland countryside with high impact exercise sessions such as circuit training and mountain biking along the Great Glen Way and trekking on a Scottish mountain - something which will feature as the ultimate final challenge at the end of all of the Loch Ness Boot Camps.
In addition to the outdoor activities, the boot camp will also include pilates and yoga sessions and workshops concerning areas such as nutrition, teamwork and motivation.
The expertise and understanding of the Boot Camp team ensures that participants can achieve their personal goals in a safe, secure and achievable way. By encouraging participants to try their hardest, participants will be pushed to the limit in order to fulfill their true potential.
Alex Brooks Johnston, Loch Ness Boot Camp instructor and Director of UKMC, comments “The boot camp team believe it is important for people to understand as much as possible about their bodies, through exercise, so that they can learn how to develop their own healthy lifestyles. What works for some people doesn’t necessarily work for others so we aim to try and teach people about why and how the exercises work and the impact it will have on their bodies. With this knowledge, boot camp participants are more likely to follow up their exercises after the boot camp has finished.”
Not only is it hoped that participants will follow up the exercises after Boot Camp, but it is also hoped that they will gain nutritional knowledge of how to improve their own day to day eating habits.
Head Chef Nick Sharp has developed a special menu for the Loch Ness Boot Camps that focuses on a balance of essential ingredients. Commenting on the menu Nick states, “It won’t be all salad and fruit, as the Inch Hotel believes that the key to eating healthily is to eat a balanced diet that includes natural ingredients. The Loch Ness Boot Camp team believe there is nothing wrong with natural fats and proteins - especially when exercising. Bodies need a fair amount of fuel to keep going in order to get the most benefit from the exercise.”
